Soon After Modi’s Warning On Killing In The Name Of “Gau-Bhakti”, A Man In Jharkhand Was Killed For Allegedly Carrying Beef

It was only yesterday that the PM expressed his fury and disappointment on the increase in killing of the innocent in the name of Gau Bhakti. Modi, in a program at Sabarmati said, “Killing people in the name of gau bhakti is not acceptable. This is not something Mahatma Gandhi would approve of.”

It’s just been a day since this and there’s already news flashing about a recent killing at Jharkhand. A furious mob killed a man in Ramgarh, Jharkhand, for allegedly carrying beef in his van.

Seriously? Is this what our country has come down to?

Lynching in Jharkhand

According to the police reports, the man named Alimuddin alias Asgar Ansari, carrying beef in his van, was brutally attacked by a group of men who made the vehicle stop near Bajartand village, only to burn it down to ashes.

The police dispersed the crowd and took him to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries and died. R K Mallik, the Additional Director General of Police, told IANS, “It’s a premeditated murder.”

The first half of 2017 has witnessed more than 20 killings in the name of “Gau-Bhakti” and it needs to stop.

Don’t know whether it’s the people who have lost their fear and respect for the country law, or the law that has stopped worrying about the inhumanity rising amongst its countrymen.
