LUCKNOW: Supreme Court Lawyer and Member of Central Waqf Council, Advocate Syed Ejaz Abbas, who is also in-charge of Waqf affairs in UP, described that the affidavit filed by Shia Waqf Board Chairman Shri Syed Wasim Rizvi in Supreme Court, in the ‘Babri Masjid’ case is unlawful.
In a letter which is addressed to the CEO, acting CEO, Chairman and Members of Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board, he revealed that 11 criminal cases and FIR’s have been lodged against Shri Wasim Rizvi by CBI with serious criminal charges.
These cases have been registered for illegally selling Shia Waqf properties which included shops, land belonging to Shia Waqf, ‘Imam Badas’, Graveyards etc. He also revealed that Central Waqf Council had written a letter to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Yogi Adityanath, requesting a CBI inquiry into the allegations of illegal sale of Shia Waqf properties worth Crores of Rupees against Shri Waseem Rizvi.
Supreme Court Lawyer Advocate Syed Ejaz Abbas expressed surprise over this act of filing an affidavit in Babri Masjid case by Shia Waqf Board,”The Shia Waqf Board crossed all limits this time. It is not at all a party to the Babri Masjid- Ram Janm Bhumi dispute. The claim of Shia Waqf Board that only it has the right to settle Babri Masjid issue is totally baseless and incorrect” he said.
In his letter Advocate Syed Ejaz clarified that only Sunni Muslim Waqf Board has right to represent in the Babri Masjid Case. As a senior member of Central Waqf Council in-charge of Waqf Affairs of Uttar Pradesh, he commented that the Babri Masjid case is being well represented by Uttar Pradesh Sunni Waqf Board.
Advocate Syed Ejaz also stated in his letter to the Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board Chairman Waseem Rizvi, who filed affidavit in Supreme Court, “ You are unable to pay even salaries to the staff of UP Shia Waqf Board for the last 12 months. You are facing CBI inquiries in 11 criminal cases. You deliberately jumped into the Babri Masjid case with an intention to dilute the CBI inquiry against you and your Waqf Board”
The news of Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board Chairman Shri Syed Waseem Rizvi (aged 48 years S/O late Syed Zaki, residing at R/O 394/13-A, Kashmiri Mohalla, Shahadat Ganj, LUCKNOW,Uttar Pradesh) filing an affidavit in Supreme Court has got sharp response from Muslim community, some even alleging that UP Shia Waqf Board to appease Yogi Sarkar is acting as the agent of Sangh Pariwar.
In a 30 page affidavit, Shia Waqf Board gave consent to build Ram Mandir at the alleged disputed site. The affidavit said that Babri Masjid can be constructed at any alternative site, in a Muslim dominated locality.
The said Shia Waqf board also claimed that Babri Masjid is a Shia Waqf Board property and it has sole authority to negotiate in this matter.
