BANGALORE: The businesswoman turned Politician NauHeera Shaikh of famous NauHeera Group is again in the news as seven complaints have been filed against her for cheating by candidates of her own political party MEP. According to reports in Bangalore Mirror , some candidates alleged that the party chief Nauheera Shaikh allegedly took money from them and promised to repay them but the promise has not been kept .
It is to be noted that Alima NauHeera Shaikh launched a political p[arty MEP and fielded many candidates in the recent Karnataka assembly elections .According reports , six to seven complaints have been filed in the various police stations against MEP Chief .
A report in Marathi Saamana Newspaper said that the candidates alleged cheating and fraud played on them .A candidate according to the report alleged that Alima NauHeera Shaikh took blank cheque and cash from her before elections. The MEP chief assured that she will receive huge amount from the party to contest elections. But Nauheera Shaikh and her associates did not keep their promise.
The Bangalore Mirror report also said that Nauheera Shaikh allegedly promised to fund candidates in election and obtained blank cheques and cash money from candidates before awarding B form and party tickets .The candidates complained that they did not receive any single paisa therefore they decided to lodge police complaints .The complainants said that many other candidates have also been cheated but as the party promised to resolve their complaints they did not reach to the police stations .
According to the Mirror report , one complainant Kalavathi who contested the elections from Sagara constituency told the police that she spent Rs.28 lakh as she was promised that party will bear her election expenses .She said that she fought elections on borrowed money .She said that if their problem is not resolved they will begin protest against party and her leader .
Another complainant Krishna , according to Bangalore Mirror report said that they wanted to resolve the issue but when they were threatened and attempts were made to detain them , they lodged police complaints .MEP sources clarified that Madame ( Nauheera Shaikh ) did not make any promise to finance candidates .No one from MEP has threatened any one .
According to the Bangalore Mirror report , Jeevan Bheema police said that they have registered complaints against NauHeera Shaikh and other under sections 420-406-506-34 of IPC .The cases are being investigated and verified .
