NIA Files Charge sheet Against Zakir Naik For Hate- speech, Incitement

MUMBAI : The NIA today filed a 100 page charge sheet against Islamic preacher Dr.Zakir Naik for  hate speech and incitement.

The charge sheet alleged that the Islamic preacher and head of IRF though his hate speeches incited youth to take up terror activities. The charge sheet includes the statements NIA recorded under section 161 of Cr. P C.The NIA relied on the statements of 85 persons to file this charge sheet.

Those who recorded their statements include Dr. Zakir Naik’s  sister Naila Noorani and his associate Amir Gazdar .The  NIA had arrested Amir Gazdar but he was granted bail by the court .


The government of India, ministry of home affairs through its order F No. 11034/17/2016/is-VI  and SO 3460( E ) had declared Islamic Research Foundation , an organization floated by Islamic preacher Dr. Zakir Naik  as an unlawful organisation .This was done under anti -terror law UAPA .


The declaration stated that credible information has revealed that Dr. Zakir Abdul Karim Naik s/o Dr. Abdul karim Naik , the president of IRF and his associates are promoting enmity and hatred between different  religious groups in India through his speeches .

The government of India in its declaration banning IRF also alleged that Dr. Zakir Naik’s speeches and lectures from various platforms incited Muslim youths and terrorists in India and abroad to commit unlawful activities and terrorist acts.

The proclamation of ban also alleged that the activities of Dr. Zakir Naik and his associates are also causing disaffection against the government of India and are prejudicial to the maintenance of peace and harmony among various communities which is detrimental to communal peace.

The ministry of home affairs also directed NIA through its order No.11011/34/2016-IS-IV to register FIR and begin investigations .Accordingly 12 premises of IRF were raided by NIA and investigations were carried .
