THANE : Municipal Commissioner of Thane Shri Jaiswal agreed to provide land in Muslim populated town Mumbra for construction of a new Haj House which will cater the needs of Haj Pilgrims in future after the New Mumbai Airport will be fully commissioned .
A meeting was held at Thane MC office in which local MLA Jitender Awhad , Haj Committee CEO Dr. Maqsood Ahmed Khan , Dy. CEO Fazal Siddiqi , Qamar sajjad also participated .Thane Municipal Corporation also gave green signal to this proposal .
The sources in central Haj Committee said that although CHCI has a Haj House at Crawford Market , but in future , Haj pilgrims going to Haj will need another haj House in Suburban areas .The new airport in Navi Mumbai will be fully operational in 2022 .
If Haj flights will be operated from New Mumbai Airport , it will be very easy for a large number of pilgrims coming from interior areas of Maharashtra .
But there is a need of a Haj House to accommodate such Haj pilgrims who may be flying from New Mumbai Airport in future .the sources said that Mumbra in Thane district is very nearer to New Mumbai Air port than present Haj House at Crawford Market , South Mumbai .
Mumbra has also been considered as ideal location for a future Haj House as it is a Muslim majority town near New Mumbai .
Jitender Awhad , the local MLA who has been instrumental in getting permission and plot for new Haj House in Mumbra said that MC Thane Mr. Jaiswal agreed to grant permission and to provide plot of land in Mumbra for Haj House .
The Municipal administration will search for the suitable polt and afterwards process of construction of New Haj House will begin .
