FILM” DADDY “ WEEK END COLLECTION Rs.4.60 CRORES

MUMBAI: The Hindi film based on the life of underworld don Arun Gawli , usually known as “ Daddy “ began with a slow but steady  box office collection and it did a business of Rs.4.60 crores , according to the film trade sources.

Titled as “Daddy “ , Arjun Rampal is laying the title role of  Arun gawli .The  critics praised his efforts describing his performance as impressive .Reports  said that the film had a slow start at the box office , but it is expected that the film will pick up the business in coming days with mouth publicity .

Arjun Rampal has similar features like Arun Gawli , and such resemblance  with the underworld don , who once organized his crime activities from the high security jail ,will bring fans to theatres , the sources opined .

The film had to face many hurdles before its release .The dates of release were changed many times. Bollywood film trade experts are saying that as this film did not clash with any big star caste film , therefore it can do business in the left over days of the week .

According to trade sources, film Daddy did initial good business in Maharashtra and it is expected that the movie will perform much better in Maharashtra where Arun Gawli has vast following .His political party Akhil  Bharatiya Sena also has presence in Maharashtra only .

The critics did not appreciated the script or plot of the film but most of the reviewers were impressed by the performance of lead actor Arjun Rampal .The film revolved around Arun Gawli , a son of an unemployed worker , who enters into the world of crime, takes over the reins of an underworld gang , and becomes one of the fiercest character of Mumbai’s under world .Surprisingly , the film has been ornamented with romance and all filmy Masala , which caters to the needs of box office business.

Farhan Akhtar has been included in the film as Maqsood Bhai , who  controls  entire Mumbai underworld .The film gives a message that kindhearted Daddy was a product of circumstances , and crime was not his passion .
