Fake News Regarding Dawood Ibrahim’s Property Seized In Dubai Is Causing A Storm On The Internet

All of this began when a news article hit the social media on 3rd January 2016. However, the interesting part is that there were no UAE or Indian Government officials sources quoted by Zee News to authenticate this big claim.

The only thing it stated was ‘sources’ without naming any source in particular that they were referring to.

This news spread like wild fire on Whatsapp and several other blogsposts websites under the message :

“In what is believed to be the biggest ever crackdown on Mumbai serial blasts mastermind Dawood Ibrahim, the UAE government has seized the fugitive’s assets worth Rs15,000 crore. It seems the strategy adopted by Modi is finally breaking the financial backbone of Dawood Ibrahim. Kudos to Modi!

Here are the screenshots of the posts from a few news websites:

However, the IOI team investigated by searching all the leading news websites of United Arab Emirates and to their surprise, there was not a single news reported about seizure of anyone’s property or mentioned about Dawood Ibrahim news.
