WHY DRUG RELATED CRIMES ARE ON THE RISE IN MUMBAI?

MUMBAI: Law enforcing agencies are busting drug peddlers, drug dealers and drug Mafia. However the success rate in tapping rising drug problem is very less. This leads concerned citizens & social thinkers to a question, why drug related crimes are rising in-spite of severe crackdown?

Thane police discovered a huge Drug-racket case in which filmstar Mamta Kulkarni and her husband Vicky Goswami were involved as prime accused and master minds. This is the indication how even the so called high profile citizens of the society are running drug rackets.

Police have said that Mamata Kulkarni and her husband Vicky Goswami are masterminds in the Rs 2000 Crore drug case and they had set up a well oiled drug cartel.

The police also alleged that this husband – wife duo also managed drug related activities right from procurement of raw material of ephedrine from India, transporting these drugs to Kenya and manufacturing of methamphetamine there on a very big scale.

In yet another drug case, Dindoshi Police in Mumbai arrested four members of the same family for allegedly selling drugs to college students, aspiring models and other youngsters in Goregaon & Malad areas.

The accused includes female members of the family too. Police identified them as Vijay Parmar (Age 27 years), Geeta Parmar (Age;47, Mother of Vijay), Shalu Parmar (Age 19 years, wife of Vijay), Marta Raju Parmar (Age 21 years, sister in law of Vijay), while her husband Raju Parmar is also an accused who is absconding.

This family is the retailer for drug cartels & they target educational institutions, night clubs and joints usually visited by youngsters.

This drug retailer family sold drugs like mephedrone, hashish, marijuana, Corex, phinrex to their clients. There are several such drug network operating in the city who target youngsters including school & college students.

Although in India, there is a law which stipulates that if the drug dealers who are arrested with commercial quantity of drugs within their possession may get death penalty. But not a single drug dealer in India has been awarded death sentence till date.

This  means that the stringent anti drug laws are not being implemented in letter and spirit. Therefore drug mafia is conducting its business without any challenge. Huge profits in drug business is attracting more and more individuals to this business, which is destroying the younger generations.
