TORONTO : Canada PM has asked Myanmar leader to stop persecution  and violence against Rohingya Muslims .PM of Canada Mr. Justin Trudeau spoke to the de facto leader of Myanmar and conveyed his deep concern over the plight of Rohingya Muslims .

Over a 1000 Canadians submitted a signed petition to the Canadian PM urging him act and revoke the honorary  Canadian citizenship granted to Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyis .

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau , reacting to this petition telephoned to the Mynmar leader and talked to her on the buring issue of military and civil atrocities against the Rohingya Muslim minority in Rakhine state .

It must be noted that Canada conferred honorary citizenship to Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyis  in 2007 to honor her struggle for restoration of democracy and human rights in her country .

Enraged over the killings and genocide of innocent Rohingya Muslims , 1000 Canadanians in their petition to the PM said that such blatant acts of  mass killings and destruction of Rohingya Muslim community is being done under the regime of Kyis , so Canada must revoke the honorary  citizenship granted to her .

Canada PM chose to directly talk to the Myanmar leader and convey to her the feelings of Canadians. The Canadian PM said in a tweet, “Today I spoke  with Aung San Suu Kyis to convey Canada’s deep concerns for the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar .”

He said in a statement that he talked impressed upon the Myanmar leader , need to protect and defend the rights of minorities in Myanmar . He according to an statement issued by Canada ,  also said that there is an urgent need for the Myanmar  military and civilian leaders to take strong stand in ending the violence against the Rohingya Muslims .

He also called upon the Myamar laeder to give access to the UN and international humanitarian aid into the conflict infected areas of Myanmar.
